Grade-A Tree Care is seeking an experienced and dependable Foreman to lead our tree care crews and oversee the safe, efficient completion of daily tree removal and pruning projects.
The Foreman is responsible for the job from start to finish — preparing the crew and equipment for the day, reviewing the scope of work with the customer, directing climbers and ground personnel, maintaining jobsite safety and productivity, and ensuring the customer is satisfied before leaving the property.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The ideal candidate has tree care experience, understands how to efficiently run a tree crew, communicates well with both employees and customers, and takes ownership of the quality and productivity of each job.
Our crews utilize professional equipment including chip trucks, aerial lifts, skid steers, mini loaders, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other specialized tree care equipment.
Lead and manage tree care crews consisting of climbers, equipment operators, and ground personnel.
Organize daily work and clearly communicate job responsibilities to each crew member.
Review work orders and job details before leaving the shop to ensure the crew understands the scope of work.
Oversee morning and end-of-day shop procedures, including equipment and vehicle inspections.
Ensure crews leave the shop with the proper tools, equipment, PPE, and materials needed for the day's work.
Meet with customers upon arrival to review the scope of work, property concerns, and expectations before beginning the job.
Oversee tree removals, pruning, rigging, cleanup, and other tree care operations.
Determine the safest and most efficient approach for completing each job.
Maintain productivity throughout the day and keep projects moving efficiently.
Operate company vehicles and tree care equipment.
Monitor jobsites for safety hazards and ensure crew members follow company safety procedures and proper PPE requirements.
Protect customer property, landscaping, structures, vehicles, and utilities during tree operations.
Maintain high standards for pruning, removals, cleanup, and overall workmanship.
Communicate with management regarding job changes, equipment problems, customer concerns, delays, or other issues.
Conduct a final walkthrough with the customer when appropriate to ensure the work has been completed correctly and the customer is satisfied.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and materials return to the shop at the end of the day.
Assist with training and developing newer crew members.
Help create a professional, productive, and accountable work environment.
Minimum 2 years of professional tree care experience; additional experience preferred.
Previous crew leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to safely operate company vehicles and tree care equipment.
CDL is not required, but is a major plus.
Strong understanding of tree removal, pruning, rigging, jobsite setup, and general tree care operations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and hold crew members accountable.
Ability to communicate professionally with customers, employees, and management.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
Dependable, punctual, and able to take ownership of daily operations.
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply show up and complete tree work. We want a leader who takes ownership of the crew and the jobsite.
A successful Grade-A Tree Care Foreman understands that safety, productivity, quality, equipment care, customer service, and crew accountability are all part of the position.
If you're an experienced tree care professional looking to take the next step in your career and lead a professional crew with quality equipment, we'd like to hear from you.
