    SUMMARY

    Under general supervision, this position is responsible for planning and supervising crews in the trade's field including responsibilities for Building Maintenance Foreman, Wastewater Line Foreman, Water Line Foreman, Vehicle Service Foreman, Carpenter Foreman, Electrical Foreman and Traffic/Communication sign foreman. This is a working foreman position.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Requisition materials and supplies.

    Schedule equipment maintenance as necessary.

    Trains subordinates in proper and safe use of materials and equipment.

    Schedule daily crew assignments based on work orders.

    Assures that safety regulations are met.

    Maintain a property supply of tools and materials.

    Maintains records on work completed; work orders delayed; etc. and submit reports to supervisor.

    Can perform duties of Trades Workers I, II, and III. Address customer complaints and resolve complaints. Supervise and inspect employees work.

    Perform work of a skill level associated with concrete finishing for the purpose of street and sidewalk repair; and may also be required to finish concrete for the construction of ramps, retaining walls, floors, foundations, driveways, etc.

    Supervise the work of a street maintenance and repair crew engaged in pouring and shoveling asphalt and concrete; and supervise the raking, tamping, smoothing, and filling of depressions.

    In Wastewater, perform the work of a skill level associated with Wastewater repairs to include gravity sewer, pressure or force main sewer, manhole repair and installation, and other wastewater associated repair and installation. Responsibilities may include use and operation of CCTV equipment for line evaluations.

    This position has supervisory responsibilities over trade's crews of 2-15 employees compromised of trades workers I, II, and III's along with Large equipment Operators I and II's. Foreman are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Foreman must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Foreman's responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
