Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides instruction to crew members to ensure proper maintenance of park structures, facilities, and groundsPerforms maintenance duties to improve parks system and monitors the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintainedSupervises personnel, including hiring, training, timesheet approval, reviewing performance, and scheduling of workEnters information regarding work orders in the park division's mainframe tracking program, MAINTRACPerforms bi-weekly inspections of parks, playgrounds, and facilities, generates & submits report, schedules repair and maintenance activities accordinglyObtains prices and purchases materials needed to accomplish assignments to complete construction projects while adhering to all city purchasing guidelinesApproves purchases up to $1,000 without approval from supervisorOversees the Parks Division Safety Program, plans and presents safety training for employees; enforces safety rules and proceduresWorks with the Parks Division Director to develop the parks division operating budget and capital requestsSupports special events including planning, scheduling, setup, operation, and tear down of city and private eventsFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalentThree (3) years of experience in landscape maintenance, general maintenance, painting, welding, schedulingTwo (2) years of experience in a supervisory or lead role

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Playground Safety Inspector OR TCEQ Licensed IrrigatorTexas class A CDL or approved equivalent.
