Days per Year: 260 Min: $63,440 Mid: $74,651 JOB TITLE: Foreman HVAC Maintenance Department REPORT TO: Director of Maintenance WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt PAY GRADE: Aux 10 PRIMARY PURPOSE: The HVAC Foreman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or modification of all HVAC systems, circuits, and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High School graduate or GED Valid Texas Driver's license 5 Years HVAC experience Must provide documentation to prove at least five (5) years' experience, expertise, and ability on Reciprocal, Screw, or Centrifugal Chillers State of Texas Class A HVAC License Preferred: Ten+ years' experience in all aspects of HVAC trade Experience as a Supervisor or as a Lead SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Possess the knowledge and skill in the use of the equipment, methods, materials, practices, and tools used in the HVAC trade Knowledge of the common hazards and necessary safety precautions, and ability to take safety precautions, including the use of power tools and equipment consistent with the HVAC trade Must know how to use major computer operating systems (Word, Excel, Google and work order systems) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Initiates, organizes, and leads in the performance of HVAC necessary to keep the District physical facilities in good repair and in use for their intended purpose. If required, designs minor HVAC installations that meet necessary national, state, and local HVAC codes Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of applicable local, state, and national HVAC codes, and insures compliance to those codes in performance of all assigned work tasks Provides training for HVAC technicians and building mechanics Participates in assignment of duties Participates in the installation and repair of A/C and heating equipment and HVAC controls Participates in the installation of new or modified HVAC equipment Completes preventative maintenance inspections of equipment as assigned Insures the proper HVAC repair parts, equipment, and tools are available at work site Prepares all assigned tasks to ensure safe, effective, and efficient completion of all job assignments Continually improves technical knowledge through independent research and study Responds to emergency call-outs, as required (7 days a week/24 hours a day) May be required to work night and/or varying shifts Keeps vehicle supplied with tools and materials Follows all safety regulations related to any and all trade areas Performs other general maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor. Within (90) days will attend a 2-hour Asbestos Training Awareness * On-going Staff Development. WORKING CONDITIONS: The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Overtime is required as necessary.
