    Description

    Sustain teaching performance in the credentialed discipline (Spanish), including appropriate course loads. This load will include seated, hybrid, and online courses with day and evening course assignments, which may include courses at any campus location or any area high school. A second discipline, such as French, is desired.

    Examples of Duties

    • Maintain mastery and currency in the credentialed field.
    • Market, recruit and retain students in all college transfer programs.
    • Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies.
    • Perform record keeping functions in the areas of student performance, including student learning outcomes, an accurate and timely manner.
    • Advise students in various degree programs.
    • Participate in a wide variety of extra-curricula committee and campus support functions to include scholarships, grants, campus marketing, accreditation, inter-institutional and system cooperative programs.
    • Program planning and support of Institutional Effectiveness plan.
    • Maintain positive working relationships with all college employees while at the same time demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Master's degree in Spanish from an Accredited four-year institution or a Masters Degree in a closely related field with 18 graduate hours in the field. It is preferred that the candidate has an additional 18 hours in another foreign language or curriculum discipline.

    Experience

    All persons must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a workplace setting or a demonstrated instructional/teaching environment. A minimum of two years' teaching experience is preferred.

    The purpose of the Wellness Committee is to coordinate the College's wellness program and plan wellness activities for College employees.

Full-Time employees will be awarded wellness points as well as prizes for Wellness activities they participate in throughout the year. The employee with the most points earned at the end of the year will win the Wellness Award along with a monetary prize.

    Enjoy a 3 Day weekend during the Summer! The summer 4 - day work week will begin in May and will end in July. The hours of operation will be 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday. Off on Friday!
