The Food Service Worker positions are located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The primary purpose of this position is to perform food preparation, dishwashing, dry and refrigerated storage tasks with several steps and attention to work operations.
Major Duties:
Sets up various stations on the central tray line with all food and non-food items needed to serve the meal.
Works various stations on the central tray line and is required to place food items on trays.
Breaks down and cleans assigned area and returns food and non-food items to designated locations.
Serves food cafeteria-style.
Sets up condiments, silverware and glassware for table service.
Loads and delivers food carts to patient care units.
Distributes trays and/or nourishments to specified locations or directly to patients.
Collects soiled trays and returns to the dish room for processing.
Assembles salads and cold sandwiches from prepared ingredients and pack box lunches.
Operates and/or breaks down equipment.
Cleans kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks, and refrigerators.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work schedule: Part-Time 40 hours biweekly with rotating weekends

The position of Food Service Worker WG-1 involves routine and common food service worker tasks. In an effort to gage your likelihood of success in assignments which require interest, motivation, and readiness to do simple work please select the best answer as it relates to your personal characteristics.
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C.
