Primary Duties: The Food Service team’s primary duties will consist of duties such as: - Preparing a minimum of three (3) full & boxed meals for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner + Snacks every day (including weekends & holidays) – ensuring all meals accommodate the dietary requirements of the program residents.
- Preparing individual meals for residents with restricted or special diets, ensuring Doctor’s orders and dietician recommendations are followed.
- Facilitating the preparation of and approval of all rotating menus, serving, and cleanup of general serving/eating area in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local health and sanitation regulations.
- Setting up hot & cold buffet tables, serving meals, and clean-up and/or dishwashing for Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner Service.
- Stocking and maintaining chilled serving cabinet with beverages and miscellaneous items requiring refrigeration.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment and adhering to safe kitchen practices, including all relevant Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and guidelines, to prevent injuries and accidents.
- Recording temperatures for dish machines, refrigerators, and food.
- Preparing and serving special meals for all Federal holidays.
- Other duties as required
Professionalism: Given that our food service team will be supporting a Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Facility, team members are expected to consistently demonstrate courtesy, professionalism, and respect toward residents, staff, and visitors at all times. Resident care is a top priority, and both VA and contract personnel will be held to rigorous standards of conduct in all interactions with residents. Job Requirements: - Food Service experience within the past 1-2 years
- Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a Government Background Investigation & Fingerprinting - Per Government requirements, verification of Identification documents is required, and candidates undergoing background checks must have at least one form of Primary ID and one Secondary form of ID. If using a state ID or Driver's License as a form of Identification, it must be a Real ID.
Physical Requirements: Candidates must have the capability to walk, bend, crouch, push, pull, twist, turn, carry, reach above and below, and stand for long periods of time.
