Job Summary

The Food Service Worker plays a key role in delivering safe, high-quality food service to hospital patients, visitors, and staff.

This position supports tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen operations while ensuring excellent customer service, sanitation, and food safety standards. This role does not provide direct patient care.


 

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and deliver patient meal trays; serve food and beverages in retail and cafeteria settings
  • Set up, stock, and maintain food stations for meal service
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and kitchen spaces
  • Follow all HACCP food safety and sanitation standards
  • Provide friendly, responsive customer service and resolve issues as needed
  • Assist with food preparation for patient tray line and cafeteria operations
  • Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform routine cleaning duties
  • Monitor supplies and report shortages or concerns to leadership
  • Support department goals focused on efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in training, meetings, and assigned sanitation projects
  • Assist with onboarding and cross-training of team members


 

Additional Job Details (if applicable)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate in English (role dependent)
  • Strong multitasking and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to safely push carts and handle food service equipment
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to service excellence and safety standards (I CARE)
