Job Summary
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe The Food Service Worker supports daily hospital food service operations by safely preparing, assembling, and delivering food to patients, visitors, and staff.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and serve food for patients, cafeteria, and retail customers
Set up, stock, and maintain tray line and food service stations
Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays as needed
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and supplies
Follow HACCP food safety standards and department protocols
Provide friendly, responsive customer service and resolve issues promptly
Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform routine cleaning tasks
Assist with food preparation for tray line and cafeteria operations
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or concerns
Support department goals focused on efficiency and customer satisfaction
Participate in meetings, trainings, and assigned sanitation projects
Assist with training and cross-training of team members

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute)
Previous food service experience preferred
Ability to read and communicate in English (role dependent)
Strong multitasking and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to push carts and handle food service equipment safely
Positive attitude and commitment to service excellence (I CARE standards)
11:15am-7:45pm Thursday and Friday with Every Other Weekend
