About the Role:

The Food Service Worker I plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers within the retail trade food service setting. This position is responsible for preparing and serving food items according to established standards, maintaining hygiene and sanitation protocols, and supporting the overall efficiency of food service operations. The role requires consistent attention to detail to uphold quality and safety standards while delivering excellent customer service. The Food Service Worker I collaborates with team members to manage inventory, restock supplies, and assist in daily operational tasks. Ultimately, this position contributes to a positive customer experience by ensuring timely and accurate food service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service or retail environment.
• Food Handler's Certification or equivalent food safety training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve food items following company recipes and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and service areas in compliance with health regulations.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, and dishwashers.
• Provide courteous and prompt customer service, addressing inquiries and special requests as needed.
• Support team members in daily operational tasks to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
• Adhere to all food safety and workplace safety policies and procedures.
