Compensation: In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Role Summary: St. Anne's Family Services is hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Food Service Worker - AM Cook to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment. This role includes dishwashing, assisting with food prep, meal delivery, and ensuring sanitation and safety standards are consistently met. Bilingual English-Spanish candidates are strongly preferred.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday; 5:30 AM - 02:00 PM
• Location: 155 N. Occidental Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals daily using standardized recipes, production sheets, and supervisor direction.
• Prepare menu items such as hot foods, soups, sandwiches, salads, and other items based on scheduled menus.
• Portion and serve foods according to program requirements, including portion control of cooked foods received from commissary.
• Transport food and/or supplies to multiple locations as needed, following food safety and temperature control requirements.
• Demonstrate awareness of the resident population's needs and maintain appropriate boundaries and professionalism.
• Complete required daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping kitchen floors after each meal service.
• Complete weekly and monthly deep cleaning tasks as assigned (cabinets, refrigerators, windows, light fixtures, vents, etc.).
• Maintain accurate production and service records, including amounts prepared and leftovers after meals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, required
• A minimum of 5+ years of cooking experience, required
• Ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions in English
• Bilingual, Spanish & English speaking strongly preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must attain Food Handlers and sanitation certification as required (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
