Are you passionate about food service and making a difference in the lives of others? Join CPARC as a Food Service/Training Aide at the S. Wilson Pollock Center for Industrial Training! This rewarding opportunity combines food preparation, catering, deliveries, and hands-on support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they develop valuable vocational skills.
You'll help support the daily operations of our food service and catering programs. Responsibilities include preparing food for catering events and specialty menus, delivering goods and catering orders throughout the Harrisburg area, maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, servicing vending machines, and keeping the kitchen, equipment, and delivery van clean and organized. You'll also provide individualized support to participants receiving kitchen training, helping them develop skills and work toward their personal goals. Providing excellent customer service, following food safety and sanitation procedures, and assisting with special events as needed are all important parts of this role.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. Two years of general food service experience is preferred, and experience or an interest in working with adults with disabilities is a plus. Applicants must be comfortable with a flexible schedule based on catering needs, standing for up to 7.5 hours per day, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
