    Job Purpose:

    • The Food Services Specialist is to work as assigned within the Dietary Department to prepare, serve, and/or deliver food to Inpatient clients, Board meetings, residential units, and other staff functions. This employee is also responsible for kitchen sanitation and cleanliness including dishes, pots/pans, washing and routine cleaning of the dietary equipment, floors, and storage area.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual meal plans.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Collaborate with nutritionists and dietitians to develop and modify menus that meet the nutritional needs of clients.
    • Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of food supplies, to ensure adequate availability of ingredients and materials.
    • Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and service.
    • Monitor food service operations to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction.
    • Implement and adhere to food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items.
    • Coordinate with other departments to support special events and catering needs within the facility.
    • Maintain accurate records of food service activities, including meal counts, inventory logs, and compliance reports.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
