We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our school food service program.
- Monday–Friday
- Day shift
- No weekends or holidays
- Summers off!
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous food service or kitchen management experience preferred.
- ServSafe® Certification a plus.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and manage daily operations.
- Must be able to obtain required clearances and documentation to work in a school environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily Operations
- Manage and oversee daily food service operations.
- Ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
- Maintain production standards and ensure compliance with school food service requirements.
Cooking & Food Preparation
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods following established recipes.
- Ensure proper portion control and food quality.
- Follow National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines and production requirements.
Ordering & Inventory
- Place food and supply orders.
- Receive, organize, and maintain inventory.
- Assist with menu promotions and marketing initiatives.
POS/Register & Cash Handling
- Assist food service staff with cash collection and register operations.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and follow established cash-handling procedures.
Food Safety & Sanitation
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation procedures are followed.
- Ensure required personal protective equipment (PPE) is used appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen at all times.
Staffing & Team Leadership
- Recruit and secure food service workers and substitute staff.
- Provide direction and support to kitchen employees.
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
