Position: Food Service - Manager/Cook - Pennsauken Intermediate School
Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district ofapproximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey
Primary Responsibilities: To provide all students and staff with appealing, nutritious meals in accordance with State and Federal Guidelines while following all Pennsauken School District Policies and Procedures.
Task Responsibilities and Procedures:
- Responsible for Supervision of Intermediate School Employees
- Daily work assignments
- Documentation of discipline issues
- Training and Support
- Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly ordering of milk, bread, groceries and Government Commodities.
- Responsible for overall preparation, cooking, and distribution of food to the Intermediate School students and staff.
- Responsible for correctly recording daily meal counts and all productions sheets corresponding with daily meal counts.
- Responsible for understanding and implementing current regulations concerning school meal programs as set forth by the NJ Bureau of Child Nutrition
- Responsible for insuring that all food is served according to sanitary standards set forth by the Camden County Board of Health
- Responsible for checking in all deliveries to ensure accuracy of invoice.
- Responsible for serving correct portion sizes by using specified serving utensils according to menu production sheets
- Responsible for handling any daily issues pertaining to the Intermediate School (parent calls, student issues, etc)
- Responsible for keeping a neat and orderly operation where
- Freezers and Refrigerators clean and organized
- Stock room(s) are clean and organized
- Work stations and equipment are cleaned daily to ensure proper food safety
- Responsible for correctly recording inventory

3) Transfers
4) Monthly physical counts
- Responsible for the overall operations of PCS Revenue Control Systems
- Responsible for daily student\teacher payments into PCS Revenue System
- Responsible for correctly recording and submitting timesheets.
- Responsible for calmly handling any issues that arise within the Food Service Operation at the Intermediate School
- Responsible for daily, weekly training of employees
- Responsible for any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Director of Food Services
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to use and/or operate equipment to perform assigned duties within the Food Service Program.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be Serve Safe Certified in Food Service Sanitation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey Motor Vehicle License
- Must be able to keep control in a crisis situation and have the ability to make reasonable judgments while under pressure.
- Must be of sound physical condition and have the ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Must have and maintain a clean and pleasant appearance.
Terms:
- 10 month position with benefits
- $35,000 yearly
