    About This Position:

    This person must be located in the state of Arkansas or be willing to relocate to Arkansas for the position.  Relocation assistance will be provided.

     

    The District Manager oversees the management of all food service operations at multiple sites, promoting quality, sanitation, safety, and delivery service to ensure service in a correctional environment. You will coordinate the activities associated with a variety of tasks in the daily operations of multiple food service units.

     

    You will work onsite and remotely. You will report to the Regional Vice President.

     

    Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

    • Implement short/long term financial and operational plans supporting overall planned goals.
    • Assist the performance of operations through verification and analysis of satisfaction systems.
    • Help with and maintain a human resource function to ensure staff development to comply with established labor regulations and goals.
    • Ensure that managers maintain inventory levels to provide quality service and compile and cost inventory for financial reviews.
    • Ensure that managers and staff prepare food on time to meet nutritional standards, Department of Health standards, contract standards and is visually appealing.
    • Ensure that managers oversee the use of kitchen equipment safely.
    • Ensure that managers and staff are cross-trained for all locations and positions in the operation and other emergencies.
    • Establish and maintain good relationship with staff, administrators, clients and public.
    • Assist the Managers and other District Managers.
    • Be active in associated professional organizations.
    • Maintain valid ServSafe Manager certification.
    • Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
    What You'll Need:
    • Four to six years management/supervisory experience in the food service industry preferably in a corrections environment.
    • We prefer an education background in business or culinary program with a focus on Finance and Accounting. Four to six years' experience in food service or other culinary industry is also desirable. Alternatively, we will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bi-lingualism is a plus.
    • Understanding of government regulations (local, state, and federal laws) associated with operations.
    • Solid mathematical and analytical skills in financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records required by governing agencies.
    • Experience in effective oral and written communications.
    • Experience maintaining files of all appropriate activities.
    • Experience creating a Sales pro forma; make sales calls and support sales staff in the pursuit of new business and the retention of current business..
    • Knowledge of basic PC operations and Microsoft Office Programs.
    • Ability to travel up to 75%.
