  • Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent; previous serving experience preferred.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.

  • Ability to constantly lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to frequently lift up to 60 lbs. Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 90 lbs. Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas. Ability to grasp, finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination. Ability to hear and use visual inspection. Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and climb stairs.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint.
  • Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems, in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, crowds and air quality.
  • Must be flexible with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Greets and makes welcome each guest seated in assigned station. Takes initial food and/or beverage order within 2 minutes of being seated.
  • Maintain current and accurate information regarding menu (i.e. preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients and plate presentation).
  • Suggests items to guests based on expressed guest preferences. Guests may express preference by verbal confirmation or body language.
  • Up-sells appetizers, beverages, desserts in accordance with restaurant service standards.
  • Correctly enters food and beverage orders into the POS system to ensure accurate preparation of product.
  • Delivers prepared food to the appropriate guest within two minutes of completed production of order.
  • Returns to table within three minutes of order delivery to ascertain guest level of satisfaction.
  • Itemizes totals and presents check for payment to correct customers.
  • Thanks customers, invites them back, wishes them luck and makes it easy for them to get back in play.
  • Assists bus persons, as necessary, in bussing, cleaning, and setting tables.
  • Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe workstation.
  • Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  • Deep cleans restaurant equipment (tables, chairs, booths, soda and juice dispensers, coffee machines) as scheduled or required.
  • Operates and maintains equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Completes assigned side work as directed at beginning, during and ending of each shift.
  • Provides personalized service and uses guests' names and preferences.
  • Must receive verification from Supervisor on duty confirming all necessary assigned duties before leaving for day or receiving service charges from bartender.
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding all State of Mississippi and Horseshoe sanitation requirements (ServSafe).
  • Supports safety and accident prevention programs (non-slip footwear, knife handling, proper lifting).
  • Adhere to garbage separation and disposal as per standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
