Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Utility Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
• Documenting and calculating results accurately.
• Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
• Handling additional assignments as requested.

At Tyson Foods, safety is paramount. This includes both personal safety and food safety.

Shift: 3rd 

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, with Friday & Saturday as needed to support operations.

Sunday Hours: 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM/end of shift (flex as needed)

Monday – Thursday Hours:Must be able and willing to work a rotating schedule between 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM (flex as needed)

Pay: $ 31.73/hr + a shift differential, This position is eligible for overtime pay and is paid weekly

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
• Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
• Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
• Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills:

• Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
• Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
• Math and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
• Must function well under stress.
• Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
• Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be able to work in wet environment
• Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
• Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
• Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed

Internal disqualifiers are the following:

• Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date)
• No written warning in the past six (6) months
• No suspension on record for the last 12 months
