      Job Summary

      We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Preparation Assistant to support daily kitchen operations for one of our hospitality clients. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the culinary field by gaining hands-on experience in food preparation, organization, and kitchen safety.

      The Food Preparation Assistant plays a key support role by ensuring ingredients are properly prepared and stations are ready for service, allowing line cooks and senior staff to operate efficiently.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning ingredients
      • Follow prep lists and instructions provided by kitchen leadership
      • Support cooks with mise en place and station setup
      • Properly label, store, and rotate food items according to safety standards
      • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces
      • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines at all times
      • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when needed
      • Dispose of waste properly and help maintain a clean kitchen environment
      • Support the kitchen team during service as needed

      Requirements & Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • 0–2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment (experience preferred, not required)
      • Basic understanding of kitchen safety and food handling practices
      • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
      • Willingness to learn and take direction
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
      • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
      • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
