Job Description
TITLE: Substitute Worker
DEPARTMENT: Food & Nutrition Services
PAY GRADE 4: $15.30 hourly
SCHEDULE: up to 180 days
REPORTS TO: Food & Nutrition Services Site Manager
SUMMARY: Performs routine food service activities related to the setting up of serving areas and the serving of food to students and staff; performs cashiering duties in the sale of food items to students and staff; maintains cleanliness of the food service facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Flexible schedule and must be willing to travel to all schools
- Must be able to lift 10- 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop down and demonstrate manual dexterity on a frequent basis with or without reasonable accommodations
- A high school diploma or equivalent desired
- Able to work quickly in a busy cafeteria
- Experience in cashiering or a willingness to learn
- Good math skills
- Willingness to learn, try new ideas, and grow professionally
- Previous commercial food service experience desired
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Practices procedures in food preparation, uses and maintains equipment and personal habits to assure that sanitation to assure that sanitation standards comply with federal, state and local regulations.
- Follows Site Managers instructions in producing, portioning, garnishing and serving of meals.
- Operates a cash register in a secondary school or clerking for an elementary school.
- Assists with either the clean-up, operating the dishmachine, and washing pots and pans.
- Demonstrates the ability to work with the school community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Site Manager and/or other designee.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
Job Requirements
