    Position Summary

    The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, banquets, room service, and other F&B operations as assigned.

    This position provides hands-on leadership to ensure excellent guest service, consistent food and beverage quality, proper sanitation and safety practices, accurate cash handling, and compliance with hotel and brand standards. The Food & Beverage Supervisor supports the Food & Beverage leadership team in achieving departmental goals while creating a positive and professional environment for employees and guests.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Food & Beverage Operations

    • Supervise the daily operations of assigned food and beverage outlets.

    • Ensure all outlets are properly staffed, stocked, clean, and prepared for service.

    • Monitor service throughout the shift and ensure guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.

    • Ensure food and beverages are prepared and served according to hotel standards.

    • Conduct opening, closing, and shift-change procedures.

    • Assist with restaurant, bar, banquet, and room-service operations as needed.

    • Monitor guest traffic and adjust staffing and service levels accordingly.

    • Communicate operational needs and concerns to the Food & Beverage Manager or Director.

    Guest Service

    • Provide exceptional service and create a welcoming experience for hotel guests.

    • Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests, and complaints.

    • Resolve guest concerns within established guidelines and escalate issues when appropriate.

    • Follow up with guests to ensure concerns have been properly addressed.

    • Maintain a professional presence in all guest-facing areas.

    Team Supervision & Leadership

    • Supervise, train, coach, and support Food & Beverage employees.

    • Assign daily duties and ensure employees understand their responsibilities.

    • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, appearance, and performance.

    • Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, specials, events, and operational updates.

    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees.

    • Promote teamwork, accountability, and positive communication.

    • Assist management with employee evaluations and disciplinary documentation when necessary.

    • Ensure employees follow hotel policies and procedures.

    Food Safety & Sanitation

    • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health department, and hotel requirements.

    • Monitor proper food handling, storage, labeling, temperatures, and rotation.

    • Ensure work areas, equipment, dining areas, and service stations remain clean and sanitary.

    • Monitor proper personal hygiene and employee appearance.

    • Report equipment, sanitation, or food-safety concerns immediately to management.

    • Ensure required food-safety documentation and procedures are followed.

    Cash Handling & Financial Controls

    • Follow established financial-control procedures.

    • Ensure accurate handling of credit cards payment.

    • Monitor employee transactions and ensure proper posting of food and beverage charges.

    • Verify closing procedures as required.

    • Report discrepancies or unusual transactions to management.

    • Assist with inventory counts and product control.

    • Help minimize waste, theft, and unnecessary product loss.

    Inventory & Cost Control

    • Monitor food, beverage, and supply inventory levels.

    • Communicate ordering needs to management.

    • Assist with receiving and verifying deliveries.

    • Ensure products are properly stored and rotated.

    • Monitor portion control and product usage.

    • Help reduce waste and control food and beverage costs.

    • Assist with regular inventory counts.

    Banquets & Events

    • Assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of meetings, banquets, weddings, and other events.

    • Review event details and banquet event orders with the appropriate team members.

    • Ensure food, beverages, tables, equipment, and service areas are properly prepared.

    • Supervise banquet employees during assigned events.

    • Communicate changes or special requests to the appropriate departments.

    • Ensure events are executed according to hotel standards and guest expectations.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Follow all hotel safety policies and procedures.

    • Ensure employees follow proper workplace safety practices.

    • Report accidents, injuries, hazards, and equipment concerns immediately.

    • Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, and alcohol-service regulations.

    • Ensure employees follow hotel procedures regarding responsible alcohol service.

    • Assist with emergency procedures when necessary.

    Communication & Coordination

    • Maintain effective communication with Food & Beverage leadership and other hotel departments.

    • Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, Banquets, and other departments as needed.

    • Communicate staffing, maintenance, guest-service, inventory, and operational concerns promptly.

    • Review daily operational information and ensure important information is communicated to the team.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Previous food and beverage, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience required.

    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of restaurant and hotel food and beverage operations.

    • Strong customer-service and communication skills.

    • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.

    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.

    • Must be able to work independently and make appropriate decisions during the shift.

    • Food-handler certification and alcohol-service certification may be required based on local regulations.
