Food & Beverage Manager, InterContinental The Clement Monterey | Monterey, CA

Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $75,000 Annual ($2,884.62 Bi-Weekly) – $85,000 Annual ($3,269.23 Bi-Weekly)

Schedule & Work Environment: InterContinental The Clement Monterey operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Food & Beverage Manager must have scheduling flexibility based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred qualifications include prior hotel experience, bilingual or multilingual skills, Food & Beverage software experience, Sommelier certification, RBS certification, and Food Handler certification.

Join Our Food & Beverage Leadership Team: InterContinental The Clement Monterey is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hands-on Food & Beverage Manager with a genuine passion for hospitality, exceptional guest service, and developing high-performing teams.

Located on historic Cannery Row overlooking beautiful Monterey Bay, our hotel offers a dynamic luxury hospitality environment where exceptional service, teamwork, and memorable guest experiences are at the heart of what we do.

The Food & Beverage Manager plays an integral role in the day-to-day leadership of our Restaurant, Room Service, Bar/Lounge, Mini Bar, and Banquet operations. This position works alongside associates and hotel leadership to drive operational excellence, maximize revenue, maintain quality standards, and create outstanding experiences for both our guests and associates.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support daily Food & Beverage outlet and banquet operations.
• Mentor, coach, train, and develop managers, supervisors, and associates to achieve maximum guest and associate satisfaction.
• Maintain a strong floor presence and regularly engage with guests and associates.
• Ensure exceptional food, beverage, presentation, and service standards throughout all outlets and banquet functions.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and identify creative opportunities to continually improve the guest experience.
• Partner with the Executive Chef and hotel leadership on menus, special events, promotions, inventory, purchasing, and operational needs.
• Support banquet events from planning and logistics through successful execution.
• Help maximize Food & Beverage revenue while monitoring labor, purchasing, inventory, food and beverage costs, and other financial objectives.
• Develop promotions and new ideas to increase revenue and enhance the Food & Beverage experience.
• Recruit, interview, train, coach, and support the performance and development of Food & Beverage associates.
• Build strong relationships with guests, clients, vendors, and community partners to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, health and sanitation requirements, alcohol-service requirements, and established operating procedures.

What We’re Looking For: We are looking for a hospitality leader who is engaging, organized, creative, results-driven, and comfortable leading from the floor in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum 4 years of Food & Beverage and/or Banquet Management experience in a luxury environment or equivalent.
• 2- or 4-year degree or certification in Hospitality, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Extensive Food & Beverage knowledge, including service standards, presentation, and dining etiquette.
• Strong leadership, coaching, interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while remaining organized and focused.
• Understanding of financial controls, inventory, labor management, budgeting, and revenue optimization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn hotel and Food & Beverage systems.
• Ability to adapt to changing business demands while remaining composed and guest focused.
