Food and Beverage Manager Job Description: The Food & Beverage Manager is an important member of our leadership team and is responsible for ensuring that guests visiting Vela and Deck 12 enjoy a dining experience that is exemplary. This role oversees all aspects of the Dining Rooms, including training and supervising the service crew. Food and Beverage Manager Major Duties & Responsibilities: - Create checklists for opening and closing side work and follow up on completion
- Conduct pre-meal meetings, training, and assist with day to day operational taks and projrcts.
- Assist and give input in menu and concept development and assist in coordinating the timely implementation of new menus where appropriate.
- Ensure bar, service areas, and BOH areas are set up for success
- Assist crew with questions, execution of service, ensuring crew are attentive and courteous to all guests
- Assign work tasks and activities, prepares schedules, and ensures that all shifts are covered.
- Assist crew with closing of checks – voids, comps, house accounts, etc.
- Make sure all tables and seating areas are re-set to perfection at the turn
- Edit/print menus to reflect current changes
- Operates the point of sale system with fluency – placing orders, posting payments, running reports, making database changes if needed.
- Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
- Complete end of night closing duties, including cashing out all servers and the bartendrs, preparing the deposit, importing the day’s sales and credit card revenue, and ensuring the building is safe and secure.
