Title: Food and Nutrition Services Manager
Qualifications:
Reports To: Director of Food and Nutrition Services and Building Principal
Supervises: Food Service Department staff as assigned
Position Summary: The Food and Nutrition Services Manager works with the Assistant Manager as a team to manage daily functions of the cafeteria and ensure the organized, efficient operation of the food service programs in their assigned building.

Food & Nutrition Services Management A. Supervises the daily activities of the cafeteria and kitchen. B. Trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates food service employees, and supports the disciplinary process when needed. C. Orders food and supplies necessary for the food service program and maintains accurate inventory records. D. Oversees daily food production and service to ensure optimal quality.
E. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions by following and monitoring established Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points policies and procedures. F. Submits accurate records of sales, bank deposits, and other reports requested by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services. G. Submits food service payroll documents. H. Promotes student and staff participation in the food service program and supports a positive customer service environment. I. Oversees vending operations. J. Maintains operational practices and records in compliance with all State, Federal, and District guidelines and policies as directed by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services. K. Responds to after-hours calls for broken colling equipment, etc. as needed. Other Responsibilities A. Assists with the development of department procedures and makes recommendations regarding District policies and negotiated agreements. B. Implements the District's evaluation and employee investigation/discipline procedures and policies for all designated staff. C. Builds relationships with all staff members, promotes a team-oriented environment, and maintains high standards of accountability. D. Develops and maintains successful, cooperative relationships union leadership and the general public. E. Participates in professional growth opportunities (e.g., attends regional, state, and national professional conferences, reads professional publications, etc.). F. Travels between District campuses and other sites as needed. G. Models the attributes of an effective District leader, including demonstrating ethical actions, positive demeanor, collaborative working relationships, and a connection to community agencies that support schools. H. Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound professional judgment in all aspects of work. I. Performs all other duties necessary to the position and such other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Compensation, benefits, and contract terms as established by the Board of Education
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Food & Nutrition Services or designee in accordance with the District's evaluation procedures
Pension System: Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF)
FLSA Status: Exempt
