Location: The Charter Hotel Seattle Life as a Food and Beverage Manager:Schedules associates under direct supervision at proper staffing levels; watches labor cost daily to ensure efficiency in schedulingEnsures restaurant adheres to all standards as outlined by brand or hotel franchiseConducts pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events; reviews daily specialsMaintains standards of food and beverage quality and guest services; resolves guest complaintsAssists sales, and banquet staff with banquets, social parties and special eventsWorks closely with Sales Office to assure all details of functions are completed properlyMonitors expenses to keep within budgeted guidelines and assists the food and beverage director in developing the annual operating budgetRequisitions food and equipment, giving specifications, quantities and quality descriptions.Responsible for hiring, terminating, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, training and development, and scheduling associates maintaining adequate staffing levels while adhering to labor standards guidelinesMonitors performance of the restaurant through analysis of guest feedback and financial reports; initiates corrective actionEnsures proper service of clients during the banquet, assuring function is supervised until completedResponsible for monthly inventories. Initiates programs to reduce breakage and loss in China, Glass and SilverPromotes programs to increase sales through incentive plans and programs to increase customer satisfactionMaintains open lines of communication with all associates and departmentsResponds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfactionConducts training classes regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelinesEnsures all required paperwork is completed as required by the state, brand and franchiseResponsible for proper posting of all Banquet chargesParticipate in development of the annual budget; develop short and long term financial operating plansEnsures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health lawsWhat we're looking for:Culinary school or equivalent work experienceA minimum of one year food and beverage and/ or hospitality related work experience requiredWhat to expect in your first few months:First, you will become familiarized with the property and your associates!
