Description

Cosentino's is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Floral Manager to lead our floral department. This full-time, hourly position offers excellent benefits and a quarterly incentive program. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of floral design,
exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record in retail management. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the floral department, from creative design and inventory management to team leadership and customer satisfaction, ensuring Cosentino's
remains a premier destination for beautiful and innovative floral arrangements. This position reports to the store director. This is a non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and inspire a team of floral associates, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment through effective leadership.
• Develop and execute creative floral designs for daily sales, special events, and seasonal promotions, demonstrating advanced floral design skills.
• Quickly and efficiently execute balloon bouquets to customer specifications.
• Manage floral inventory, including ordering fresh product, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste to ensure optimal freshness and profitability.
• Oversee the merchandising of the floral department, creating visually appealing displays that enhance the customer shopping experience using provided merchandising
standards.
• Ensure floral cases and shelves are stocked with all necessary items checking to ensure product is always fresh, watered and properly rotated.
• Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their floral needs and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
• Conduct regular training sessions for floral staff on design techniques, product knowledge, and customer service standards.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Manage the ordering process for floral supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock for departmental operations.
• Utilize Microsoft Software for reporting, scheduling, and communication purposes.
• Drive sales growth through effective merchandising, promotional strategies, and exceptional customer engagement.
• Effectively manage labor hours in a way that successfully balances the customer’s need for service with the company’s need to closely monitor expenditures.
• Address employee relations issues and, if needed, effectively work with the Floral Director, Store Management and Human Resource team to resolve issues.
• Know and implement the Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Know, comply with, and ensure the team complies with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your store.
• Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Actively work to keep your work area and your department as a whole clean and safe for customers and coworkers.
• Support your company by completing additional tasks identified by management, assisting other stores or departments as needed and gaining new skills when necessary.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of comprehensive knowledge of floral design principles and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of floral inventory management and ordering best practices.
• Working knowledge of retail operations and customer service excellence.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a retail or floral setting.
• Ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retail management.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with advanced floral arrangement techniques.
• Proven ability to drive sales and manage department profitability.
• Familiarity with seasonal floral trends.

Physical Abilities
• Reaching overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 74 inches, twisting at the waist
and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Pushing and pulling items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 20 lbs.
• Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard
surfaces.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs., to a height of 34 inches.
• Able to work in colder conditions of the floral coolers.
• Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
• Climbing a ladder, possibly up to 5ft.
