Description

Flooring & Carpet Cleaning & Installation – Commercial Office Space

Location – Washington, DC On-Site, Capitol Hill 20515

MUST BE A US CITIZEN AND ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK

Hours – 5:30 am – 2 pm M-F and some weekends as necessary

Duration - Short term temp assignment (8-10 weeks) November – February 2026

Pay rate – 21.76/hr + 5.42/hr Health & Welfare = 27.18 Overtime may be available

Duties & Skills Required -
  • 1-2 years of experience with carpet cleaning, installation, and repair.
  • Basic understanding of floor plans/schematics.
  • Available to work non-core hours (3am-11:30am, 5:30am-2pm, 11pm-7am)
  • Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED


General Requirements -
  • Walking, bending, crouching, and lifting daily are normal.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. of bulky, breakable materials safely
  • Candidate must have flexibility in working hours. Positions may vary from 24 hours to 48 hours per week and may require working on Saturdays and Sundays. The month of December, during a Congressional election year, is normally the greatest hourly workload month.
  • Personnel may not be needed throughout the entire period of performance.
  • Work performed more than 40 hours per week shall be approved in advance, in writing, by the supervisor/manager. The House shall not make payment for any services provided more than 40 hours per week unless the contractor obtains prior, written approval from the supervisor/manager.
  • Professional with neat/clean appearance. A company shirt must be provided if required for the position.
  • Ensure all House property is handled carefully to prevent damage and report any/all discrepancies/problems/mishaps to the manager immediately.
  • Must wear safety equipment in the shop - steel toe shoes and safety glasses. Nonprescription safety glasses will be provided. Responsibility of contractor to purchase steel toe safety shoes.
  • Function effectively as part of a team and can work independently.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the legislative environment, U.S. House of Representatives is beneficial.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history records check [or other applicable security clearance].

  • The ability to effectively communicate in English through strong oral and written skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized with the ability to multi-task, in a high paced environment.
