The Floor Care Technician is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and appearance of all floor surfaces within a facility. This includes the use of specialized equipment to clean, buff, strip, wax, and refinish floors, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for staff, customers, and visitors.
Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and polish hard surface floors using appropriate floor care equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers).
Vacuum and extract carpets using professional carpet care machines.
Monitor floor conditions and report any safety or maintenance issues.
Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain equipment by cleaning and performing routine maintenance checks.
Maintain inventory of floor care supplies and notify supervisor of shortages.
Adhere to facility policies and infection control standards.
Assist with general cleaning tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
1+ year of experience in janitorial or floor care preferred.
Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical ability to perform tasks that require lifting, walking, bending, and standing for long periods.
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Work is performed indoors in a commercial, industrial, healthcare, or educational facility.
May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and frequent use of floor care machinery.
Evening or weekend shifts may be required depending on the facility’s needs.
