Job Skills / Requirements

Hard Floor Care

• Sweeping and Mopping: Clear dirt and dust from hard surfaces like tile and concrete.
• Stripping: Use chemical solutions to remove old, dirty layers of wax.
• Waxing and Buffing: Apply fresh wax and use high-speed buffer machines to create a shiny, protective coat.
• Burnishing: Use heavy machines to polish the floor to a high shine.

Carpet Cleaning

• Vacuuming: Remove daily dirt and debris.
• Spot Cleaning: Remove stains from spills or high-traffic areas using safe chemicals.
• Extracting: Use deep-cleaning machines to wash and remove water from carpet fibers.
• Shampooing: Apply foam or liquid soap to deep-clean wool or synthetic rugs.

Equipment Management

• Maintenance: Clean and adjust machines after every use.
• Repairs: Replace worn-out pads when needed.
• Safety: Report broken tools or facility issues (like loose tiles or water leaks) to a supervisor.

Safety and Compliance

• Hazard Control: Put up wet floor and caution signs to prevent slips and falls.
• Chemical Safety: Follow exact instructions for safe use and storage of all cleaning supplies.
• Trash Removal: Empty trash cans and safely handle medical or hazardous waste in clinical settings.
