The Floor-Shift Supervisor serves as the primary floor supervisor during assigned opening and/or closing shifts, providing expanded operational coverage and supervisory support within the Taproom and Retail spaces. This role helps ensure service readiness, operational consistency, strong communication, and successful execution of opening and closing responsibilities.
This position assumes key shift supervision responsibilities when scheduled in this capacity. The Floor-Shift Supervisor plays an important role in supporting the guest experience, strengthening floor accountability, and helping maintain a smooth, well-executed operation. This position reports directly to the Head of Taproom Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary floor supervisor during assigned opening and/or closing shifts
- Support strong floor execution, service flow, and team communication throughout the shift
- Ensure opening and/or closing procedures are completed fully and consistently
- Lead or support pre-shift communication to align the team on daily goals, priorities, service focus, and operational updates
- Coordinate key opening responsibilities, including distributing banks, reviewing menu updates with the kitchen, adjusting POS inventory as needed, receiving Lawson's Finest Liquids beer deliveries, and preparing the space for service
- Coordinate key closing responsibilities, including counting banks and deposits, confirming inventory adjustments, ensuring all positions have completed proper closing procedures, and securing the building
- Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and service-ready environment for guests at all times
- Support consistency in beverage and retail standards, including proper glassware, cleanliness, organization, and readiness
- Reinforce adherence to service standards, floor accountability, and all applicable liquor laws and company policies
- Serve as the primary point person for in-shift questions or immediate operational needs, escalating issues to management when appropriate
- Communicate relevant shift notes, issues, and follow-up items clearly to the Taproom Management team
- Help create a work environment that encourages accountability, teamwork, and pride in execution
What you'll need to succeed:
- Ability to confidently open and/or close the Taproom and Retail operation
- Strong floor presence and the ability to support multiple service positions as needed
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the broader management team
- Highly organized with strong prioritization and time management skills
- Experience with POS systems and daily cash-handling procedures preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with basic spreadsheets preferred
- Knowledge of safe work practices, sanitation standards, and proper handling of food, beverages, and cleaning chemicals
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a regular schedule
- Positive, team-oriented approach with the ability to remain composed under pressure
- Physically capable of performing active floor duties, including repeated lifting of 30 pounds or more and prolonged standing, walking, and talking
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in hospitality preferred
- Cicerone Certified Beer Server required within 90 days of hire
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
