Floor Inspector / Quality

The Quality - Floor Inspector ensures that parts being produced in the manufacturing areas are quality parts as defined in the procedure manual and the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. The Floor Inspector reports to the Quality Supervisor(s) and Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Visually inspect last shot cast and last shot trimmed
• Check production parts for good quality
• Document inspection result on log and Quality Instructions
• Use all gauges that are provided
• Report to foundry foreman any conditions that do not meet customer or internal quality specifications or standards
• Review rejected production
• Communicate with operator and/or degator regarding quality concerns
• Record amount of rejected castings and the reason for rejection(s) on the inspection report
• Record any pertinent information relation to production on the inspection report
• Handle non-conforming material as defined in the procedure manual

Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience in quality
• Have basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
