Job Summary
The Floor Coating Manager leads Garaginization's floor coating installation team, overseeing every epoxy and polyaspartic flooring project from surface preparation through final walkthrough. This role is responsible for crew supervision, job scheduling, quality control, and ensuring every installation meets Garaginization's standards for craftsmanship and durability on North Texas garage floors. The ideal candidate combines hands-on flooring expertise with strong leadership and organizational skills to keep crews productive, safe, and consistently delivering a showroom-quality finish.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Supervision & Scheduling
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the floor coating installation crew(s).
• Build and manage installation schedules across multiple job sites to meet customer timelines.
• Train new installers on Garaginization's surface prep, coating application, and finishing standards.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for on-site issues, delays, or crew concerns.
Client Relations & Walkthroughs
• Conduct final client walkthroughs to confirm satisfaction and address any punch-list items.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding project timelines and expectations.
• Partner with sales and design teams to ensure accurate scoping of flooring projects.
Installation Oversight & Quality Control
• Oversee epoxy, polyaspartic, and hybrid floor coating installations from prep through cure.
• Enforce surface preparation standards, including grinding, crack repair, and moisture testing.
• Conduct quality inspections at each stage of the coating process to catch and correct issues early.
• Maintain consistency in color, flake pattern, and finish across all completed installations.
• Monitor material usage, waste, and inventory needs for coating products and equipment.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce jobsite safety protocols, including proper handling and ventilation for coating chemicals.
• Ensure crews follow OSHA guidelines and Garaginization's safety procedures at every job site.
• Maintain equipment (grinders, sprayers, mixers) in safe working condition; schedule repairs as needed.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in epoxy, polyaspartic, or resinous floor coating installation required.
• 1+ years in a crew lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Working knowledge of surface preparation methods (diamond grinding, shot blasting, crack/moisture remediation).
• Familiarity with coating systems from major manufacturers (e.g., polyaspartic, polyurea, epoxy hybrids).
• OSHA 10 certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple job sites in a day.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly (bags of material, equipment).
• Ability to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
• Comfortable working in garages without climate control, including exposure to North Texas heat and humidity.
• Ability to safely operate grinding, mixing, and spraying equipment.
• Some exposure to coating fumes and chemicals; proper PPE provided and required.
