The Floodplain & Resilience Outreach Technician supports floodplain compliance, outreach, resilience planning, and FEMA CRS activities for the City of Newport News. The role includes assisting with technical reviews, data collection, mapping updates, and resident support related to flood risk and mitigation. It also involves preparing public education materials, participating in community outreach, and helping manage programs such as FloodREADY Homes and VCAP. Work is performed in both field and office settings and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

All levels of experience will be considered.

Target Hiring Ranges Based on Experience:

Engineering Technician I: $46,382.54 - $58,809.03

Engineering Technician II: $48,924.99 - $62,039.23

Engineering Technician III: $54,467.99 - $69,057.84
