The Flexo Rewinder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a Rotoflex rewinder to slit, rewind, and package finished product according to customer specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. This position reviews production documentation, performs machine make-ready activities, monitors product quality throughout the rewind process, and prepares finished product for final inspection and shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and work instructions for accurate make- ready.
Set up, monitor, and adjust machine operation as needed to ensure products meet job specifications.
Slit and rewind rolls to customer specifications for size, count, direction, and quantity.
Maintain quality standards while minimizing waste and downtime.
Review quality samples and production documentation prior to running jobs.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and efficiently, including machine documentation.
Perform consistent quality inspection checks, monitoring for and removing defective material.
Package finished products according to customer requirements.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), ISO 9001 standards, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) to ensure product quality and safety.
Keep work areas clear and organized, maintaining housekeeping standards.
Support Flexo Press Operators and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; or equivalent related experience and training acceptable.
A minimum of one year of rewinder experience required, Rotoflex Rewinder experience preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial manufacturing environment required, print or packaging industry preferred.
Ability to read and interpret job tickets, work instructions, safety rules and equipment operation manuals.
Basic math and measurement (reading rulers, scales) required.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and use hands and fingers in repetitive, dexterous motions.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 75 pounds, with or without mechanical assistance.
Regularly exposed to noise, dust, odors, and oils.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
