    Work Schedule

    Monday through Friday. Location: Canals Buffalo Office - 4950 Genesee Street suite 190 Cheektowaga, NY 14225 7.5-hour workday with .5-hour unpaid lunch. Paid for actual time worked; there are no paid vacation or sick days. During NYPA and Canals holidays, the business is closed, and no work is permitted. NYPA and Canals requires a hybrid schedule of a minimum of 3 days on-site, up to including fully on-site depending on department requirements.

    CWPO Engagement Requirements

    Candidates are REQUIRED to be local to the Tri-State area and in W2 tax status as an hourly paid employee of Service Provider. Fully remote positions are prohibited. Hybrid schedules are permissible with a minimum of 3 days on-site depending on assignment and can be fully on-site depending on business needs. Remote work privileges can be revoked at any time. NYPA does not provide laptops. Instead, NYPA provides desktops and dedicated workstations which candidates will remote into from their personal equipment on virtual days. If candidate does not have proper equipment, internet connection, or he/she is deemed to not work effectively from home, the hybrid privilege will be revoked. Vendors must disclose foreign national status and all Visas at the time of candidate submission. Additionally, a Benefits Waiver and Ethics Disclosure will be required of the candidate during onboarding.

    Project Overview

    The Fleet Systems Analyst requires a blend of technical, analytical, and communication skills to support monitoring, and updating of computerized vehicle, vessel and equipment information systems. The FSA assists software package users in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to data loads, maintenance, data extraction, maintenance of the existing systems, and development of new reporting packages. The FSA analyses existing processes that are configured outside of the structured software platform, documents processes, proposes and assists in the implementation efforts of solutions within the financial software platforms.

    Job Functions & Responsibilities

    Fleet & Marine Systems Specialist role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including the following key tasks:

    • Technical Work: Developing, monitoring, and updating computerized vehicle, vessel and equipment information systems. This involves working closely with Fleet & Marine equipment management Staff & IT systems to ensure data accuracy and system efficiency.
    • Fleet Analyses and Special Studies: Conducting detailed analyses and studies to identify areas for quality service and operational improvements. This includes assessing current operations and recommending changes to enhance performance.
    • System Admin for Holman Insights: Support the implementation, integration, and ongoing maintenance of asset information data withinsoftware within the fleet management system.
    • Liaison for MAXIMO Support: Acting as the main point of contact with Asset Management for Maximo support of Fleet and Marine Assets, which is a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) used for tracking some fleet & marine assets and maintenance activities.
    • Reports Management: Managing periodic fleet reports for accuracy and rigor, continuously improving existing reports, and developing new dashboards for key performance indicators (KPIs).

    Skills

    • Proven ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI and other computer applications and file organization procedures is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to use Pivot Tables, Tables and Database formulas within MS Excel.
    • Strong technical aptitude with experience in managing information systems or databases. Maximo and Holman sotwares are a plus.
    • Reporting and Dashboards: Proven ability to manage and improve periodic fleet reports, and develop new dashboards for KPIs.
    • Analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
    • Experience in fleet management, marine operations, or a related field is preferred but not required
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

    Education & Certifications

    4 year degree required.
