    The career opportunity for you:

    Recore Electrical Contractors is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Mechanic's position in our Gastonia, NC shop. The Mechanic will be involved with repairs, inspections, and maintenance for trucks and vans in a company fleet. This position will be working with the fleet manager in diagnosing automotive problems, determining their best solutions, and making any necessary repairs to ensure the fleet is running well. Ideal candidates would experience repairing and maintaining gasoline and diesel vehicles. Having stick welding experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

    Duties may include but are not limited to:

    • Perform service and repairs of all fleet vehicles
    • Perform preventive maintenance (lube, oil change, replace belts, hoses, inspect brakes, repack bearings, check tires, on all size vehicles).
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, engine and electrical problems on all size vehicles.
    • Drive automatic and standard shift vehicles for testing, transfer, and pick-up/delivery of parts.
    • Fill out all necessary documents.
    • Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary.

     Qualifications:

    • Experience working on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair gasoline and diesel including: PM's, tire & wheel, and brakes.
    • Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, labels, and gauges.
    • Possession of valid driver’s license
    • Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and squat.
    • lift (up to 50 lbs.)
    • Requires the ability to read professional, technical documentation, directions, instructions, methods and procedures.
