Fixture Design & CNC Setup Specialist

Location: North Prairie, WI

Compensation: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Build precision from model to finished tooling

Picture this: You receive a 3D CAD model in the morning. You plan the toolpath, design and build the fixture it needs, set up the CNC with the right tooling and offsets, and produce a part that measures dead-on by afternoon. You hand it to the Tooling Specialist for final benching and rigging, then reset the cell for the next project—keeping safety, organization, and efficiency front and center.

Impact you’ll make

• Translate 3D CAD models into efficient, accurate CNC toolpaths
• Design and fabricate fixturing to support precise machining
• Set up and operate CNC machines to create high-quality tooling
• Choose tooling, establish offsets, and fine-tune cutting parameters
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment
• Balance speed with quality to hit production deadlines
• Operate CNC machines, shop equipment, and forklifts safely
• Collaborate closely with the Tooling Specialist for final benching/rigging
• Support Tooling Specialist and Shop Assistant tasks when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company procedures

What you bring

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Post-secondary education in CNC Machining, Tool & Die, Tool Making, or related field (preferred)
• Relevant CNC machining experience (preferred)

Technical strengths

• Interpretation of 3D models and machining data
• Proficiency in CNC setup and operation
• Working knowledge of CAD and toolpath/CAM software
• Computer literacy with manufacturing software systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision mindset
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Willingness to take on additional shop responsibilities
• Capability to supply basic personal tools for machining tasks

Physical requirements

• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods
