Summary
The Fixed Maintenance Supervisor oversees hourly maintenance staff and preventive maintenance for surface and underground fixed equipment. This role reports to the Fixed Maintenance Foreman and supports/backs up the Foreman as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise execution of preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs, and emergency repairs on fixed equipment assets.
- Coordinate contract maintenance work and ensure compliance with PM schedules.
- Partner with Planning and Operations to ensure work is properly planned, scheduled, and executed to support production needs.
- Assign work orders, monitor progress during the shift, and maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Support emergency maintenance of hoists, chillers, pumps, compressors, and other underground fixed plant infrastructure.
- Participate in risk assessments and SOP development; inspect work in progress and completed work for quality/reliability.
- Complete required documentation and CMMS entries (shift reports, material requests, timecards, etc.).
- Lead, coach, and manage hourly employees in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, and the collective bargaining agreement.
- High school diploma/GED required (technical/vocational associate degree preferred).
- 35 years of maintenance experience, including underground hard rock mining preferred/required.
- Strong understanding of underground mining operations and fixed plant equipment/maintenance processes.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred; strong communication skills and attention to detail.
