Setting: Hybrid (In office Tues - Thurs/ Remote Mon & Fri)
Oversee: 4 Direct Reports

Seeking a hands-on accounting leader to oversee fixed asset accounting for a high-volume, $1B+ asset portfolio. This role serves as the company’s fixed asset subject matter expert, leading a team of four while driving process improvements, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all fixed asset accounting activities, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and construction-in-progress accounting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and period-end reporting.
• Partner cross-functionally to establish and improve fixed asset policies, processes, and best practices.
• Maintain SOX-compliant controls and support internal and external audits.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
• Develop, mentor, and manage a team of four accounting professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2-3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, fixed asset accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing high-volume fixed asset portfolios ($1B+ preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience required.
• SEC reporting experience is a plus.
• Retail, grocery, or restaurant industry experience preferred.
