About the Role
Barr-Techs is hiring an Entry to Mid-Level Welder/Fabricator to join our Brownwood, TX shop team. This position is a great opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of experience who wants to sharpen their skills and grow into a lead fabricator or foreman role over time.
We’re looking for a motivated individual who values safety, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a long-term career in industrial fabrication. You’ll assist with layout, fitting, and welding projects while learning from experienced welders and fabricators.
Responsibilities
- Assist with layout, cutting, fitting, and assembly of metal components
- Perform MIG and Stick welding under supervision
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Use hand tools, grinders, and cutting equipment safely and effectively
- Inspect work for accuracy and quality
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety and shop procedures
Requirements
Requirements
- 1–3 years of welding or fabrication experience (school or field)
- Basic knowledge of MIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding processes
- Ability to read simple blueprints or willingness to learn
- Mechanically inclined with a strong work ethic
- Must be safety-conscious, dependable, and eager to learn
- Must be able to pass a background and drug test
Preferred
- Welding certifications or trade school training
- OSHA 10 card (preferred, not required)
- Experience in a shop or industrial environment
