Key Responsibilities As a Fitter/Fabricator, you will fabricate and assemble structural steel components while maintaining established quality and safety standards.

In this role, you will:

• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
• Fit, assemble, and fabricate structural steel materials according to specifications
• Perform measuring, layout, cutting, fitting, and welding operations
• Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Utilize fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Verify dimensional accuracy and fit-up before completion
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and project schedules

Qualifications

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of structural steel fabrication experience
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fitting and fabrication techniques
• Hands-on experience with welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
• Understanding of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel
• Knowledge of AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code is beneficial
• Ability to pass welder qualification testing in various welding positions
• Commitment to workmanship, accuracy, and safety

Equipment Experience Preferred

Candidates with experience operating the following fabrication equipment are encouraged to apply:

• Press Brakes
• Shears
• Ironworkers
• Magnetic Drills and Drill Presses
• Oxyfuel Cutting Equipment
• Plasma Cutting Equipment

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Trade school or technical training preferred

Experience in an AISC, AWS, ASME, or API-certified fabrication facility is highly desirable.

Work Schedule This position operates on a Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM first-shift schedule. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends, may occasionally be required to support production schedules, customer deadlines, or project requirements.
