    Description

    Aquila's Fitness Specialist (part-time) assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.  This part time position is for eight (8) work hours a week.

    Work Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-12pm

    Pay Rate: $22.84/hour

    Location: in person, St. Louis, MO

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supervise exercise areas
    • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
    • Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
    • Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
    • Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
    • Explain all equipment
    • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
    • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
    • Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
    • Attend staff meetings
    • Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
    • Perform daily administrative duties

    Qualifications:

    • B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field, and/or
    • Active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NCCPT or NSCA)
    • Active CPR certification
    • 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
