The City of Lansing Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a friendly and responsible Fitness Instructor for the Senior Programs to lead and inspire our community members in their fitness journeys. If you have a passion for health and wellness, we encourage you to apply.

Qualifications for this position consist of:

• Must be 18 years of age at the time of hire.
• Interested candidates must provide proof of age prior to interview selection.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications, Bloodborne Pathogens Certification, and Enhance Fitness Certification
• Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their experience and competence in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Obtaining certification as required by the specific exercise classes being taught.
• Consistently and politely enforce city policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of person using the swimming facility.
• Know all Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for the building.
• Report first aid supply shortages to the Community Center Programmer.
• Take daily attendance

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, with options for afternoon and evening classes

No benefits are available for TEA or Seasonal type employment
