Orangetheory Fitness Coach – Role Overview & Core Responsibilities

As an Orangetheory Fitness Coach, you will lead science-backed, predesigned workouts for groups of up to 30 clients, delivering a high-quality, results-driven fitness experience. This role requires strong leadership, effective time management, and the ability to provide clear, individualized coaching within a dynamic group environment. You will guide members through the three key areas of fitness—endurance, strength, and power—while leveraging Orangetheory’s proprietary technology and training methodology to optimize performance, support individual goals, and drive measurable results.

Core Responsibilities

Lead and Coach Workouts: Deliver predesigned Orangetheory workouts with confidence, professionalism, and attention to proper exercise technique, safety, and modifications.
Motivate and Engage Members: Create an inclusive, high-energy training environment that encourages members of all fitness levels to challenge themselves and work toward their individual goals.
Provide Individualized Coaching: Monitor member performance, offer real-time feedback, and provide appropriate exercise modifications and progressions to support safe, effective training.
Leverage Fitness Technology: Utilize Orangetheory’s heart rate monitoring system and studio technology to educate members, track performance, and enhance the workout experience.
Maintain Class Flow and Time Management: Manage transitions between stations, equipment, and workout segments to ensure classes run efficiently and according to schedule.
Prioritize Safety and Studio Standards: Maintain awareness of members’ form, equipment use, and overall well-being while upholding studio cleanliness and safety protocols.
Build Member Relationships: Establish rapport with members, recognize individual progress, and contribute to a welcoming community that supports engagement and retention.
Collaborate with the Studio Team: Work closely with studio leadership and fellow coaches to maintain consistent service standards, support studio goals, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Represent the Orangetheory Brand: Deliver a professional, member-focused experience that reflects Orangetheory’s commitment to science-backed fitness, community, and helping people live healthier, more active lives.

Compensation: $25.00 - $65.00 per hour

Orangetheory is a science-based, full-body workout that uses technology to measure performance so members can prove they are improving. In a 60-minute class, led by a highly trained and certified coach, members target at least twelve minutes in the Orange Zone to raise their heart rate and charge up metabolism. The result is an increase in calorie burn post-workout, backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). After twelve minutes of hard work in the Orange Zone, your body burns additional calories as you recover over the next 24 hours.
