Job Summary:

The Fitness Center Supervisor has accountability and oversight, and supervises the daily activities of the department, shift or area. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual and team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.

 

Position is located at SMH HealthFit located off of Clark Rd in Sarasota Florida: 5880 Rand Blvd

HealthFit is the only Certified Medical Fitness Facility in Sarasota, and one of only two in Florida. The designation is awarded sparingly by the not-for-profit Medical Fitness Association (MFA) to facilities that demonstrate the highest standards for quality and safety. HealthFit first earned the three-year certification in 2016 and was awarded re-certification in 2019. Nationwide, only 42 medical-fitness facilities are MFA-certified.

Required Qualifications:

- Require Bachelor Degree in Health/Fitness or related field.
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a personal trainer and/or fitness instructor.
- Require current CPR and AED certifications must be acquired within ninety (90) days of hire date.
- Require current nationally accredited fitness certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prefer a minimum of (2) years of experience managing a fitness team.
- Prefer demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to exercise in the adolescent through geriatric population.

Mandatory Education:

BD: Bachelor Degree

Preferred Education:

M D: Masters Degree

Required License and Certs:

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR

Preferred License and Certs:

ACSM: American College Of Sports Med
