Fitness Center Supervisor

Employment Screening Requirements: As part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s commitment to keeping people safe, all individuals providing care to vulnerable populations are required to undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual and team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.

Job Summary:

This leader has accountability and oversight, and supervises the daily activities of the department, shift or area. Required Qualifications:

- Require Bachelor Degree in Health/Fitness or related field.
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a personal trainer and/or fitness instructor.
- Require current CPR and AED certifications must be acquired within ninety (90) days of hire date.
- Require current nationally accredited fitness certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prefer a minimum of (2) years of experience managing a fitness team.
- Prefer demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to exercise in the adolescent through geriatric population.

Mandatory Education:

BD: Bachelor Degree

Preferred Education:

M D: Masters Degree

Required License and Certs:

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR

Preferred License and Certs:

ACSM: American College Of Sports Med
