Description

Location: Terry Park, 3410 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL, 33916

Lee County Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a Fiscal Specialist to join our team. This position provides general support within the fiscal section of the department by handling payments, tracking expenses, and helping staff with daily financial tasks. You will work with invoices, purchase orders, deposits, and department records. This role is important in helping the department stay organized and follow County policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Process invoices, payments, and purchase orders
  • Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
  • Track expenses and keep financial records up to date
  • Reconcile spreadsheets, credit cards, and financial reports
  • Manage the department procurement card program
  • Train and support staff who use procurement cards
  • Work with the bank and review transactions for accuracy
  • Handle employee reimbursements and vendor payments
  • Process daily deposits and ACH web/phone payments
  • Maintain petty cash and change funds
  • Enter and track work orders in the system
  • Maintain databases and prepare reports when needed
  • Assist with tracking vehicles, major equipment, and inventory
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Licensing

What Were Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or closely related experience
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency with data entry
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping methods and principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of computer software such as; MS Excel, Word, Windows, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills

Supplemental Information

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Hours may vary to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
