The Oregon Convention Center is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented Transportation and Logistics Manager to oversee parking, loading dock, and event logistics operations that support successful events and exceptional guest experiences. In this role, you will coordinate the safe and efficient movement of guests, exhibitors, decorators, vendors, and event partners throughout the facility, working closely with Event Managers, internal teams, and contracted service providers. The Transportation and Logistics Manager leads parking operations, manages parking service contracts and budgets, oversees staffing and scheduling, and helps develop operational procedures and training programs that promote safety, efficiency, and customer service excellence.

This position is ideal for a skilled operations professional who enjoys problem-solving, building partnerships, and contributing to the success of a dynamic, event-driven environment.

As the Transportation and Logistics Manager you will:

  • Oversee daily loading dock operations to ensure safe, efficient, and seamless event move-ins and move-outs, maintaining procedures that support a positive experience for clients, vendors, and staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parking operations, partnering with event staff, clients, promoters, and external agencies to assess event needs, develop parking plans, and execute successful event parking strategies.
  • Collaborate with area parking operators to support event needs and generate revenue.
  • Support and lead parking operations staff by providing guidance, resolving customer concerns, and stepping in when needed to ensure exceptional service and smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Manage parking revenue reporting and reconciliation processes, including balancing statements, entering sales and receivable data into Momentus, and coordinating documentation with the Accounting team.
  • Oversee vendor and service agreements related to parking operations, ensuring contractual obligations and service expectations are met.
  • Develop and maintain staffing schedules for parking personnel and flaggers, ensuring adequate coverage for events while balancing operational and staffing needs.
  • Champion safety by enforcing organizational policies, procedures, and regulations in loading dock, queuing, and event traffic areas, creating a safe environment for staff, vendors, and guests.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for all events by scheduling dock marshals and agents, coordinating coverage for absences, and responding to unexpected operational needs.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing deliveries in partnership with North Dock operations, including oversight of shipments, logistics, and internal mail distribution.
  • Manage and maintain parking lot directional and digital signage, ensuring guests receive clear, accurate, and timely information before and during events.
  • Supervise the Parking and Dock that includes the Parking and Dock Assistant Manager, Parking and Dock Coordinators, and Parking and Dock Agents. Provide performance expectations and performance feedback to ensure the highest level of service and execution
  • Create and maintain systems and procedures to support accurate, efficient and safety service delivery
  • Oversee back of house check-in procedures, including software management, ensuring that all third party visitors are credentialed upon entry.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in the assigned program area or a related field and three years progressively responsible experience related to parking operations, event operations, venue management, transportation, logistics, facilities, or guest services, OR
  • Associates degree or equivalent related to area of assignment and five years progressively responsible experience related to parking operations, event operations, venue management, transportation, logistics, facilities, or guest services, OR
  • Any combination of education, professional, volunteer and lived experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily based on-site at the Oregon Convention Center, giving you the opportunity to stay connected to daily operations and collaborate closely with staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment. We also offer some flexibility, when possible, in alignment with operational needs.

  • Knowledge of parking operations, traffic flow management, and event logistics.
  • Experience managing and being accountable for multi-million-dollar revenue and expense budgets.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND REPRESENTATON

The full-salary range for this position is step 1 $89,563.73 to step 7: $120,023.26 annually. However, unless a candidate's qualifications justify, based on the Oregon Pay Equity Act requirementsand Metro's internal equity review process, the appointment will likely be made between step 1: $89,563.73 to the equity range of step 3: $98,743.96 annually.

This position is not eligible for overtime and is not represented by a union. It is classified as an Program Supervisor I.
