We are seeking a First-Mile Logistics Specialist to manage international transportation resources, freight capacity, and end-to-end shipment coordination. The ideal candidate should have experience in cross-border logistics and international ocean freight, with the ability to coordinate logistics resources and ensure shipments arrive at our U.S. warehouses as scheduled.


Responsibilities:


  •  Review shipment plans and confirm routes, sailing schedules, container types and quantities, ports of origin, and destination ports. 
  •  Work with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to obtain quotes, compare rates, negotiate pricing, and arrange bookings. 
  •  Develop and maintain first-mile transportation resources to secure sufficient freight capacity during both regular and peak seasons. 
  •  Coordinate container pickup, loading, trucking, customs declaration, port entry, customs clearance, container pickup, and warehouse delivery. 
  •  Track vessel departures, arrivals, and overall shipment status, and promptly resolve delays, rollovers, customs inspections, demurrage, detention, and other transportation issues. 
  •  Communicate with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking companies, and U.S. warehouses. 
  •  Review ocean freight, trucking, customs clearance, and other logistics charges while supporting transportation cost control. 
  •  Maintain shipment and vendor records and regularly evaluate service providers based on pricing, transit times, and service quality. 
Qualifications:


  •  Experience in first-mile logistics, international logistics, cross-border e-commerce logistics, ocean freight operations, or freight forwarding. 
  •  Familiarity with ocean import shipments from China to the United States, with the ability to independently manage the process from booking through delivery to a U.S. warehouse. 
  •  Familiarity with both full container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) shipments. 
  •  Knowledge of shipping orders (SO), bills of lading, customs declaration and clearance, container pickup, and warehouse delivery procedures. 
  •  Existing relationships with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, or trucking companies are preferred. 
  •  Strong skills in rate sourcing, comparison, negotiation, and transportation cost control. 
  •  Strong communication and coordination skills, with attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility. 
  •  Ability to communicate in both English and Chinese for daily business purposes is preferred.
