Job Title: Firmware Engineer 5
Location: Redmond WA
Salary Range: $70/hr to $90/hr on W2
Introduction

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered:
- 10 years of experience in firmware and embedded systems debugging, C/C++ development, PowerShell/Python scripting, hardware diagnostics, protocol analysis, and root-cause investigation.
- Strong background in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience in large systems software design and development.
- Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.
- Experience with Xbox Accessories or similar device/accessory ecosystems.
- Familiarity with BLE/USB and firmware-update/provisioning flows.
- Knowledge of RF/radio (antenna diversity, RSSI), Qualcomm ADK/MDE, crash-dump/telemetry pipelines, Azure DevOps fluency, and AI-assisted triage/scripting.
- Prior work experience at client or in the client's industry.
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Key tasks and expectations for the role:
- Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
- Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions.
- Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.
- Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
- Implement system software and customize to client requirements.
- Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.
- Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
- Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
- Provide quality assurance reviews and perform post-implementation validation of software.
